Simply Thai Cooking Class at LaZat Cooking School

Recently I devoted many times in the kitchen because I found it satisfying when I cook something, displayed nicely and my man enjoyed eating them. I have unlocked few challenging dishes, such as Yong Tau Fu, Italian Hello Kitty shape Ravioli, and Spanish Seafood Paella. You can go to my Instagram and check out the photos! 😊

So i decided to join LaZat Cooking School and learned how to make my favorite Thai dishes. One of the reason why I have chosen LaZat Cooking School instead of other cooking schools, is because they offered Market Tour before the cooking session.

My cooking instructor, Laty brought us around the market and introduced our local Malaysia fruits and vegetables, including 'ulam' (village vegetables) that can rarely find in market nowadays. Laty also shared some tips on choosing seafood and the best place to get varieties of paste for our dishes.

After the tour, Laty brought us for 'Princess Leia's hair' roti canai πŸ˜‚and teh tarik. For Malaysians, you must be wondering how come we have to went through such food and vegetable introduction, and have such typical Malaysian breakfast. This is because LaZat Cooking School aimed to introduce Malaysia's culture to foreigners through our food. My class consists of mother daughters from Austria, a family of four from London, a Singaporean, a guy from Germany, and there were only two local Malaysians in the class. I am proud to be one of them πŸ˜‰

Very quick and simple way to cook Tom Yam Goong. Now you wouldn't want to order any Tom Yam Goong at those Thai restaurants once you know the recipe.

Followed by my favorite dish - Gang Keao Wann Gai (Green Curry Chicken).

#7
We have done the Green Curry paste together with Laty. Each of us got our portion to cook with the chicken.

Looks absolutely yummylicious and it is in fact really tasty!

Lastly, we will prepared our dessert - Tab Tim Grobb (Water Chestnut with Coconut Milk)

#9
Marinated the water chestnuts with pink food coloring, then cover them with Tapioca flour, layer by layer.

After cooked them, put in a bowl, add in coconut milk and refrigerated for at least 30 minutes before consume.

Served with ice cubes and syrup, fantastic!! The tapioca flour made it chewy and the water chestnuts itself is really crunchy. The coconut milk is so fragrant. I finished the whole bowl! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

It's great to be able to enjoyed our own cook meal together with all students. Everyone shared about where they come from, where they have been to, which countries they have travelled and which cuisine they have learned to cook before. It's amazed that food connects everyone here.
