Rocku Yakiniku @ Pavilion

Recently this BBQ restaurant was so famous, received many positive comments among my colleague and friends, seems like is a must-visit restaurant. Me and my man decided to give it a try before our movie at 10.10pm, since we reached about 7pm.

As usual, there was queue but not as long as what we usually saw, so we joined the queue. The waitress came and informed us that the waiting hour is about 45 minutes. we were being pretty positive that the queueing time should be less than that.

30 minutes after queuing.

Finally, after an hour and 16 minutes, which is 76 minutes, they got a table for us.

The interior is like a brick house with wall painting, plus wooden chair with dark color cushion.

They have a live band there!

Raw vegetables such as capsicum, carrot, onions to add on flavor to your BBQ grill meats and seafood.

Three types of fruit: red apple, green apple and oranges.

Pre cook dishes such as fried rice, fried spaghetti, fried dumpling, potato wedges, fried eggs and fried vegetables.

You can get edamame and soba too if you like.

Three types of sauces including Ponzu (something like soy sauce), chilli sauce and spicy miso (i found it sweet instead of spicy).

BBQ with charcoal.

A waiter explained to us on the mechanism since it was our first time there. There are Beef Platter, Pork Platter and Seafood Platter. If you don't like such platter, you can choose ala carte. Mark 1 on the quantity and you will get 1 plate with 3 pieces of whatever you have chosen.

And let me pre-empt you, the price that you are paying for is NOT including beverages & alcohol. Yes, you are right, not even Green Tea is included! RM3 per jug.

The waiter suggested we ordered everything for the first round, then only add on after that. They looked good.

My man with his super charming smile. *wink*

Me with my funny face again. Can never do a proper charming smile like my man did.

Okay, besides the green tea, here is another item that you need to pay for it if you wanna eat. The Last Polka ice cream in three flavors: Deep Dark Chocolate, Coconut and Mango, RM3.90 per scoop.

I am gonna say something that some of you might not like it. But as a blogger who has conscious, I am going to share my dining experiences here, frankly. Yes, the ingredients are fresh but too much MSG I would say, I felt extremely thirsty after eating. The buffet is priced at RM49.90++ per adult, inclusive of all beef, pork, seafood, fruits, and pre-cooked side dishes.  I understand that alcohol should be chargeable, but green tea, seriously? RM3 per jug and non-refillable. And ice cream too, RM3.90 per scoop. I don't get how this 'buffet' works then. Is like so many hidden terms & conditions, and no, I never fond of such modus operandi. If that's the case, why don't you just charge RM59.90++ per adult, but inclusive of free and refillable green tea and ice cream?

On the other hand, the plus point will be the live band. Very entertaining. There will be magician too every friday. Such entertainments made Rocku a different kind of Japanese charcoal grill restaurant, is like a bar kinda feel. Another thing will be the ventilation, so much better than the rest of the BBQ restaurant, at least I won't walk out with terrible BBQ smell from head to toes. Good job on that.

Feel free to have a try but my advices will be: 1) make sure you are not hungry yet when you decide to dine there, 2)make sure you wear comfortable shoes because you are going to stand and queue for at least 45 minutes, 3)bring along a book/ipad/whatever entertaining tools to kill time, and 4)be patience all the time.
