The Gastro Project

The Gastro Project (TGP) - a combination of good food, unique drinks, friendly service, and movie time under one roof that you could ever find in the Section 17 neighborhood!

Courtesy of The Gastro Project, we are invited to join the media food review.

Before the food review starts, guests are invited to upstairs to enjoy signature cocktails and also finger food. Upstairs is lounge seating with the walls hold blown-up photos of Hollywood stars and a big screen with a home theatre system, to reflect how much the founder's passion for film.
Two not to be missed signature cocktails, including this one - 'Hmmmm....' The name sounds exactly the same after you have the first sip.

Apple Crumble Martini. If you like very sweet cocktail, this one is for you.

Mushroom Tart, a vegetarian bite made of caramelized mushrooms and onions served on TGP polenta base. The fit-one-mouth-at-a-time-size is just nice for us to enjoy the whole taste of it.

Oh I love Chilli Padi!!! The TGP Pizza is made of juicy squid and prawns on the special Green Garlic Pesto base with parmesan and chilli padi!!! This is definitely quite Malaysian style despite the fact that TGP is based on the founder's experience in England.

This is Orrechiette (somehow rather difficult to pronounce this), which is 'ear shaped' pasta in creamy, cumin flavored sauce with sun-dried tomatoes, lamb sausage and homemade meatballs bakes with cheese.

After tried out the canapes bite, the long awaiting moment is finally arrived!! The signature dishes review!!  *drooling*
Japanese Style Salad. They call it the 'happy salad', mixed of avocado, pomegranate, salad leaves and pine nuts in a Japanese inspired sesame dressing. You know why they served this as appetizer? They said this is because they found that customers who order this, tend to have greater appetite and order more food! LOL. Thou I am not a salad-lover, or to be exact, I don't eat salad; but this is really nice one.

After the appetizer, here come's the main dishes!!
Mantou buns, to be eaten with............

With this flash-fried King Prawn cooked in Buttercream sauce. Soak the Mantou bun with the sauce, yummy yummy~~~

Signature Crab Aglio Olio Spaghetti, cooked with of course, crabmeat, parsley, garlic and chilli flakes.I am very lazy to eat crab so this pasta could actually fulfill my crave for crab while ease my crab eating process.

Slow cooked lamb stewed with carrots and apricots. This tasted so Malaysian style with the spices that they used in this dish.

Superb well-cooked Australian Black Angus!! I love this to the max!! So tender and juicy!! Mama mia!!!

Girls being girls. No matter how much we ate, we still expecting dessert and more desserts!!

The Satisfying dessert - Cardomom Pannacotta with Fruit Coulis. I always have the thing with Pannacotta, just love it!!

The Classic dessert - English Strawberry Trifle with layers of fresh cream, custard, fresh strawberries and strawberry sauce.

My favorite Decadent dessert - Chocolate Cake Balls, super rich in chocolate!!! Many people can't finish this, I guess is too rich for them, but I found it just nice!! Chocolate is such a love!!

Last but not least, thank you the head chef, Mr Othman Hasan and his team for delivered such awesome meal!

Can't wait to try out the dishes here for family gatherings, private parties, company nights out, corporate events or club gatherings?
